Mr. Marion Simpson is the Founder and Executive Director of the Young Adult Guidance Center, Inc. (YAGC). Mr. Simpson attended Fort Valley State College. He has over 49 years of experience in social services and youth development. He gained this experience serving in various positions, including youth development coordinator, social service coordinator, child care professional, substance abuse counselor, and program assistant director. He is a member of the Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless, the Fulton County Foster Parents Association, and a former member of the Local Block Grant Advisory Committee and the Atlanta Workforce Development Board.
Mr. Simpson’s work has made him the recipient of many accolades. In 1991, Hearts for Youth nominated him for the Trailblazer Award. In 1992, Southern Bell awarded him the “Saving Our Children” Award. In 1996, he received the “Martin Luther King Jr.” Award from Emory University. In 2001, TBS honored him with the “Super 17” Award.
Mr. Simpson has consistently worked with and provided services to runaway and homeless youth since 1980. His passion for improving lives has impacted over 17,000 young people in the Metropolitan Atlanta community.

Ms. Tyelisha Johnson has extensive experience working with at-risk youth providing guidance, creating goal-oriented action plans, and advising youth in their decision-making process. Her professional and volunteer experiences have made her proficient in managing caseloads, providing mental and physical assessments, providing job preparation training, creating educational action plans, deescalating heightened situations, and fostering collaborative relationships with community partners. In addition, Ms. Johnson has experience training youth in theater and spoken word. Ms. Johnson has worked as an academic advisor, case manager, an ELA and Math instructor, a guidance counselor assistant, tutor, and mentor.
Tyelisha Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Spelman College and her Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies of Criminal Justice Administration degree at Georgia State University.
